Uppsala: Day Fifteen

Uppsala: Day Fifteen

It’s our second last day at Ribbingeback!

We spent the morning cleaning and sending KS off…it was an emotional moment for many of us (well, not us Singaporeans because we’re going to see him back home), especially the guys! Johannes teared a little, and some say that even Justin looked like he was tearing. I don’t believe that though. Matthieu has lost his beloved roommate too.

After that, Joanne and I spent a good part of the day waiting for Pastors’ arrival! We had no idea what time they would come, only that it would be between lunch and dinner, so we simply waited! We fell asleep, woke up, had ice-cream, read books and tried to find cows, horses and sheep (to no avail) while waiting!

Of course, Pastors finally came! It was SO GREAT to see Pastors today, we missed them so much!! Rinnah, Pam and Aunty Lilian were there too! It was so so so good to see all of them again! Brad took Pastors on a tour around Ribbingeback, and the rest of us spent time catching up with Rinnah! And because it’s Rinnah’s birthday tomorrow, we decided to give Rinnah her birthday presents one day early! Charmaine got her a bubble machine, Joanne got her a water gun, face paint and cute stamps, KS and I got her a cute little red bag that looks a little like a lunch box, and Joanne, KS and I got her a playdough ice-cream factory! Rinnah put her water gun, face paint and stamps into her new bag (which she will proudly carry through customs) and she looked so cute walking around with it! Happy birthday Rinnah!!

Pastors left with Pastor Joakim soon after (too soon….) and we had our last supper at Ribbingeback! After that, we had a short meeting about our next few days in Gothenburg, traveling down, luggages, housing etc.

To end off the day, Joanne and I decided to have a worship session in the chapel. It was so good; we spent so much time just dwelling in the presence of God, enjoying the presence of God and sharing our revelations on the bible, on love and on life. We spent so much time worshipping; we realised that we were in the chapel for more than an hour, but it felt like it was less than 30 mins!

I think this trip has really taught us so much. In the hustle and bustle of city life (i.e. Singapore), one can hardly find the time to get away from all the noise and retreat into a quiet place to seek God. While we were out here in the countryside, we found that opportunities to seek God were aplenty! I believe I speak for every single one of us here when I say that our relationship with God has gone up to a whole new level. Now we’re fully refreshed, recharged and regenerated, ready to take on the world in full force!

Well, we’re probably not going to get much of a chance to blog for the next few days, as we will be traveling down to Gothenburg (7 hour ride!!??) on Thursday, and Nordic 07 will be on from Friday to Saturday! Thereafter, we will have the Leaders’ Conference (on a yacht, how cool is that?) before (finally!) flying off to Singapore on 20 Sep and reaching on 21 Sep.

It’s been great blogging about Ribbingeback! Look out for more on Nordic 07!

In searching for a name for next year’s Nordic Conference in London…………
London baby.
